Originating as a Side Project

AveNews began as a side project while we were advancing the Miraculous Medal promotion. Indeed, it was created for reasons that all social activists involved in promoting ideas and influencing behavior recognize: whether it’s an environmental initiative, anti-war advocacy, or the promotion of a lifestyle, they face the same two challenges we encountered in promoting the Miraculous Medal.

Challenge 1: We cannot limit ourselves to merely introducing the Miraculous Medal to prompt action.

As Fr. Joseph Loftus astutely pointed out, the key is to inspire action. From the perspective of promoting the Miraculous Medal, this involves much more than just the medal itself; you need to speak to people with diverse knowledge, backgrounds, and preferences. The crux of the matter is expanding the dialogue rather than simply saying, “Look, this is the Miraculous Medal,” and expecting action.

We observed that many promoters of similar ideals fail to realize a fundamental issue: they are still using methods from an era of information scarcity in a time of information overload. This is a critical problem. When people have easy access to various sources of information, merely presenting facts no longer suffices.

Challenge 2: We cannot balance initial cost investment with potential returns.

This is a common challenge during the early stages of any project. Your resources are always limited because people don’t know you, and they can’t see your accomplishments, which creates a Matthew effect. In our case, without sufficient resources, how do we achieve greater content dissemination at a cost we can afford? This is a question every startup must address.

If you have entrepreneurial experience or related knowledge, you understand that capital, technology, and influence are three interrelated key aspects. They promote and affect each other. For resource-limited startups, it’s about deciding which step to take first, and AveNews is our proposed solution from a technological standpoint.

Helping Users Establish Effective Dissemination and Reduce Costs

In our own case, we expect AveNews to help us solve the aforementioned challenges in the following ways:

Firstly, by providing a wide audience with content that is attractive to them, AveNews positions itself as a tool. Ideally, the AveNews team will leverage its technical and content management capabilities to assist content creators in producing more impactful content.

Secondly, by helping all teams and individuals using AveNews reduce their content marketing costs. This is a very practical concern, as having a dedicated content marketing team may not be economical for any startup. However, AveNews opens up our team’s content marketing efforts as a standardized service, thereby reducing operational costs for all users who adopt its services.

Anyone can create content individually if they have enough motivation, but they cannot single-handedly build a comprehensive marketing support system for a dissemination project, including keyword rankings, content linking, regular promotions, and cross-referencing. Managing multiple social media accounts alone is a daunting task. From a community management perspective, content posting is just the beginning of the marketing effort; managing the community, interacting with content, and other tasks cannot be accomplished by one person.

These are the issues we faced when planning to promote the Miraculous Medal. So, if AveNews can help us reduce the costs associated with promoting the Miraculous Medal, theoretically, it can also assist other teams with similar goals.

Moreover, in a broader sense, the significance of AveNews could go beyond our dissemination objectives. It has the potential to become a richer, value-driven flywheel targeting different niche audiences. It would drive content creation, accelerate content dissemination, and attract more expressions of need. Ultimately, this will help us greatly in achieving our mission: Bridging Timeless Faith with Today’s Voices.
